Why do I need to use a carrier oil?

Pure essential oils are extremely volatile, meaning they will evaporate quickly and that they carry the natural smell and therapeutic qualities of the plant. Because they are extremely strong, diluting the concentration of essential oils is very important… especially when applying on sensitive skin or on children. They help to not overwhelm and they “carry” the essential oils into your body. If you apply an essential oil without using a carrier and you feel a burning sensation, layering a carrier oil on top of the area will help to lessen that uncomfortable feeling – same goes with if you get an essential oil in your eye. DO NOT RINSE WITH WATER, use a carrier oil instead.

Why can’t I just get a cheaper diffuser from Amazon?

Young Living’s diffusers are made from medical-grade plastic, which is very important when using essential oils. These oils you are diffusing are pure and have detox qualities, not only for your body, but for plastic as well. These oils can and will break down cheap plastic, releasing harmful toxins from your diffuser into your air as they diffuse. This is the same reason why you should only ingest oils out of glass or metal containers, not plastic cups.

What is the difference between these oils and what I can get at the store?

Essential oils that you see on a shelf in your local store are not pure. Those bottles may contain a small portion of an organic plant, allowing the labels to use the word ‘organic’, but that word does not ensure the entire contents of the bottle are pure. Often times, these oils are also highly diluted, making them less expensive.

Do I have to ingest oils?

Are essential oils safe to use on my kids?

Definitely! While we do use essential oils on our children on a regular basis, again, this is not something that you HAVE to do… we hope that you never feel pressure and that know that you can use oils however you feel comfortable.
